Coexistence of Reality and Imagination
This place, which reminds me of an opera stage once performed at the Mariinsky Theater, is surprisingly used as a women's clinic. This unique space, which feels like it was dropped into the era when Renaissance and Baroque styles intersected, originally had a high ceiling and a courtyard, and the designer added the conflicting formula of 'culture' to maximize the strengths of this site while creating an environment that would satisfy both medical staff and patients. The color range used throughout is mostly calm and dark, creating a stable atmosphere. What inspired the designer before the design was the antique architecture of medieval Europe and the surrealist works of Sandy Skoglund. The tunnel-like message that meets the arched entrance gives a cozy yet mysterious feeling.
The dark gray wall, where the light from the chandelier and auxiliary lighting is sprayed from various angles to form a strange gradation, is definitely one of the highlights of this place, and the classic furniture model object half-buried in the wall in particular has a unique charm that makes it difficult to take your eyes off it once you set your eyes on it. Surrealism applied throughout the clinic, including the entrance, creates an unfamiliar and fantastic image for patients, and the low lighting and partitioned waiting space for privacy protection further enhance the uniqueness of this space.
The concept of the space, which started from the shape of an arch, is expanded widely to include stairs and layers, a promotional wall, and partitions and lighting. In addition, it acts as an element that provides psychological stability to patients and medical staff by becoming the structure of furniture such as chairs and tables. The 6th floor hallway, where the modern image on the left and the classic image on the right are directly mixed, and the bricks made of old bricks leave a lasting impression on visitors as an image where the past and the present coexist. The completely new space formed in the courtyard connected to the clinic allows you to see the client's affection for this place and the designer's novel ideas. This place was created to satisfy the aesthetic needs and emotional development of patients and medical staff, and more clearly expresses the client's will to pursue a classy clinic.
